Job Description

Overview

The role of MBBS Medical Officer with exposure to ICU & ER is crucial in providing medical care particularly in critical care settings. The individual in this role will be responsible for delivering highquality medical care to patients in the ICU and ER while maintaining a focus on patient safety and wellbeing. This position requires an individual with strong medical knowledge and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to patients in the ICU and ER settings.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments and examinations.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
  • Supervise and coordinate with nursing and support staff.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with medical protocols and standards.
  • Document patient medical records and progress.
  • Participate in medical rounds and consultations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and prognosis.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and training.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards of medical practice.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare facility.
  • Stay updated with advances in medical research and treatments.

Required qualifications

  • MBBS degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Valid medical license and registration.
  • Proven experience in managing critical care patients in ICU and ER settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to make swift and accurate medical decisions.
  • Excellent understanding of medical procedures protocols and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in highpressure and emergency situations.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Proficient in using medical equipment and technology.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and ethical standards in healthcare.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals.
  • Empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement processes and patient safety practices.
