Job Description
Overview
The Application Packaging role is a critical position within the organization responsible for the development testing and deployment of software applications across the enterprise. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that applications are properly packaged and ready for seamless integration into the companys systems ultimately contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for application packaging.
- Package and test applications for deployment using industrystandard tools.
- Perform application compatibility testing and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration documentation.
- Create and maintain automation scripts for packaging and deployment.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of packaging tools and technologies.
- Ensure adherence to packaging standards and best practices.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on packaged applications.
- Provide support for production deployments and postimplementation activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams for seamless application integration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Proven experience in application packaging and deployment in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and registry settings.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell VBScript or batch scripting).
- Experience with industrystandard packaging tools such as AdminStudio InstallShield or other similar tools.
- Knowledge of application compatibility testing methodologies and tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve packaging and deployment issues.
- Understanding of software deployment technologies and methods.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
