Job Description
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and tests.
- Diagnose ocular diseases and manage treatments.
- Perform surgical procedures as necessary.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging results accurately.
- Develop customized treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients on preventive eye care and treatment options.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff and medical students.
- Keep uptodate with medical advancements and best practices.
- Participate in professional development and continuous education programs.
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently to minimize wait times.
- Engage in community outreach initiatives to promote eye health.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- MD or MS in Ophthalmology.
- A minimum of 35 years of clinical experience in ophthalmology.
- State medical license to practice as an ophthalmologist.
- Certification from a recognized board in ophthalmology.
- Proficiency in performing a range of ophthalmic surgeries.
- Experience with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to highquality patient care.
- Experience in research and clinical trials is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Willingness to participate in educational workshops and community events.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Fluency in local languages is a plus.
