Overview:
The Senior Hairstylist plays a vital role in enhancing the confidence and selfexpression of clients through personalized hairstyle solutions. As a leader within the salon you will be responsible for providing expert hair care services ranging from cuts and colors to specialty styling techniques. This position involves not just advanced skill in hairstyling but also customer service excellence leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor junior stylists. The ideal candidate will bring creativity technical expertise and a passion for hair artistry contributing significantly to the salons reputation and client satisfaction. You will work closely with a team to create a welcoming environment while ensuring the highest standards of hair care and styling are maintained. By keeping up with the latest trends and techniques youll help transform the salons offerings and elevate the overall client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform haircuts coloring and styling services according to clients preferences.
- Consult with clients to assess their needs and recommend appropriate services.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in hairstyling and hair care.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure repeat clientele and referrals.
- Train and mentor junior stylists in advanced techniques and best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools.
- Manage appointment bookings and maintain a schedule to optimize salon flow.
- Suggest and sell hair care products based on client needs.
- Develop and implement promotions to attract new clients.
- Collaborate with salon management to enhance overall client experience.
- Handle client inquiries and complaints with professionalism and care.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the salon.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Create a positive and inspiring atmosphere for clients and staff.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; cosmetology license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hairstyling role.
- Proven expertise in advanced hair cutting and coloring techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience mentoring staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of hair care products and their applications.
- Familiarity with salon management software preferred.
- Proficiency in creating both classic and trendy hairstyles.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and salon standards.
- Positive attitude and a passion for the beauty industry.
- Understanding of current health and safety regulations in salons.
