Job Description

Overview

The Receptionist at the Hospital Nurpur serves as the frontline representative of the hospital providing essential support to both patients and medical staff. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. The Receptionist will manage patient checkins answer inquiries schedule appointments and facilitate effective communication between departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly providing a first point of contact.
  • Manage patient checkin and checkout processes efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries with professionalism.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.
  • Collect patient information and update records accurately.
  • Assist in insurance verification and claims processing.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals regarding patient needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing data entry and record keeping.
  • Provide patients with information about hospital services and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and medical staff.
  • Assist with patient referral processes as needed.
  • Monitor the flow of patients and manage wait times effectively.
  • Address patient concerns and issues with empathy and problemsolving skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficient in using office equipment (computers fax machines printers).
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Customer service experience with a focus on patient care.
  • Empathy and patience in dealing with patients and families.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
