Overview
The MBBS ICU Exposure ER Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering critical care in emergency situations within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) environment. This role is fundamental to the effective management of patients suffering from lifethreatening conditions and requires a robust foundation in medical knowledge clinical skills and the ability to work under pressure. An ER Specialist is expected to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals to provide the best patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission to the ICU.
- Stabilize critical patients using advanced life support techniques.
- Implement and monitor vital signs and laboratory investigations.
- Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications.
- Provide emergency interventions as needed in a fastpaced environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team for comprehensive patient care.
- Document all patient encounters accurately and maintain electronic health records.
- Participate in case discussions rounds and patient care planning.
- Educate patients and their families about treatments and care processes.
- Lead resuscitation efforts during cardiac arrests or other medical emergencies.
- Ensure the proper use of medical equipment and technology in the ICU.
- Conduct regular evaluations and recommend adjustments to treatment plans.
- Stay updated with the latest ICU practices and protocols.
- Participate in training and mentorship of junior staff and interns.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures while maintaining high ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an ICU or ER environment.
- Current medical license to practice in the relevant state or country.
- Board certification in Critical Care Medicine is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of critical care protocols and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in highstress environments.
