The Interventional Cardiologist at Apollo Hospital Karaikudi TN plays a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular diseases through advanced interventional techniques. This position not only requires an extensive knowledge of heart conditions but also the ability to perform complex cardiovascular procedures that can be lifesaving. The Interventional Cardiologist works collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care from initial assessments to complex interventions. This role requires staying uptodate with the latest advancements in cardiovascular medicine contributing to continuous improvement in patient outcomes. As an essential part of the cardiology department the Interventional Cardiologist is responsible for educating patients and their families helping them understand their conditions and treatment options which is crucial for informed decisionmaking and adherence to treatment regimens. This position demands a high level of commitment skill and compassion in a dynamic healthcare environment wherein the cardiologist effectively balances clinical responsibilities with furthering medical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with cardiovascular disorders.
- Perform interventional procedures such as angioplasty stenting and catheterizations.
- Develop patient treatment plans based on diagnostic results.
- Perform diagnostic tests including echocardiograms and stress tests.
- Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Consult with surgical teams for patients requiring surgical interventions.
- Educate patients and families about cardiac health and management plans.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in medical research and clinical trials as needed.
- Collaborate with cardiology staff to improve clinical outcomes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior medical staff and interns.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in interventional cardiology.
- Adhere to departmental protocols and hospital policies.
- Address patient inquiries and concerns effectively and compassionately.
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications:
- DM in Cardiology or DNB in Cardiology from a recognized institution.
- Medical degree (MBBS) from a reputed medical school.
- Extensive clinical experience in interventional cardiology.
- State medical license to practice in Tamil Nadu.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in conducting interventional procedures.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Exceptional diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to patientcentered care and medical ethics.
- Participation in professional organizations related to cardiology.
- Published research or presentations in interventional cardiology is a plus.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
