The Farm Production Technician is responsible in assisting the farm supervisor on the overall activities relating to the farm sections/units production and operations which include implementation of standard operating procedures swine production programs management of swine feeding health assessment & medication biosecurity barn management data recording and data management and other related programs under the farm operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Farm Production and Operations
1. Assists the Farm Supervisor in carrying out and managing the swine production processes in the assigned section or unit in order to achieve the targeted production performance.
2. Carries out programs and implements enhancements to existing processes and activities in the assigned section or unit.
3. Helps ensure appropriate inventory management system is in place correct inventory
level is maintained and variances are within acceptable threshold in the assigned section
or unit.
4. Carries out barn management activities to maintain the cleanliness orderliness and
functionality of the farm facilities.
5. Carries out procedures relating to the proper management of pigs in the section.
6. Carries out proper recording of production data and ensure accuracy of recorded data.
7. Conducts activities related to hog sales declaration and selling of pigs in the farm.
8. Analyzes performance gaps and recommends measures to address gaps..
9. Checks the materials and resources needed by the section and carry out needed activities to ensure that these are sufficient and available for use in the section.
10. Coordinates with other sections to ensure seamless integration of the sections/units
processes to the entire swine production flow.
11. Collaborate with other concerned teams to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of the farm facilities.
12. Ensures that appropriate biosecurity protocols are in place implemented and complied to.
13. Monitors evaluates and provides feedback on the performance of the thirdparty
manpower provider to ensure that services are within the agreed service level
commitment.
14. Reports any issues or concerns that may be noted in the section/unit or in the farm.
Qualifications :
Education:
Must have a degree in Animal Science Animal Husbandry or other related courses
Experience:
Preferably 3 years work experience in a 500sow level swine operation preferably as a supervisor in Breeding and Gestation unit.
