Education and qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors and Masters degree in Biosciences (e.g. Biology Immunology Microbiology Biotechnology Biochemistry or related disciplines).
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in wet lab research.
Experience in molecular biology cell culture and flow cytometry techniques.
Experience working with animal models of infectious diseases.
Advanced English is required
Valued:
Experience in parasitic culture (T. cruzi and Leishmania)
Main responsibilities and duties:
Independently conduct routine and nonroutine experiments including molecular analysis (DNA and RNA extraction qPCR) and cell culture experiments (tissue explant culture viral and bacterial and parasitic infections flow cytometry).
Perform in vivo infection experiments using mouse models.
Tissue processing and flow cytometry.
Coordination of sample collection.
Ensure quality control of equipment reagents and cellular components.
Labour conditions:
- Position linked to a project: 40hours/week.
- Starting date: January 2025
- Gross annual salary: (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
