Job Description

Overview

The Accounts Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for maintaining financial health and providing strategic insights for decisionmaking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods policies and principles
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management accounts payable accounts receivable credit control and petty cash
  • Supervise the accurate and timely processing of payable and receivable transactions
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assist in budget preparation and management activities
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
  • Monitor and support taxation issues
  • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies
  • Oversee regulatory reporting frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Lead manage and develop accounting staff
  • Provide leadership and support for monthend and yearend close process
  • Collaborate with Controller and Senior Management to support overall department goals and objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or relevant field
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Manager or similar role
  • Certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements and reports
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/yearend close process
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detailoriented with excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of auditing and tax regulations
  • Experience in financial analysis and budgeting
  • Previous experience in managing and developing a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance
