Job Description
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret various imaging modalities such as Xrays CT scans MRIs and ultrasounds.
- Diagnose and evaluate medical conditions based on imaging studies.
- Collaborate with referring physicians to discuss imaging results and treatment options.
- Provide consultations and recommendations on imaging studies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols for radiation exposure.
- Supervise radiology staff and provide educational guidance.
- Conduct quality assurance checks for imaging equipment and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of imaging results.
- Stay updated with advancements in radiology and imaging technologies.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training and mentoring radiology residents or interns.
- Provide expert testimony in legal cases involving imaging evidence.
- Manage and resolve any patient concerns related to radiological services.
- Engage in patient education regarding imaging procedures and outcomes.
- Meet productivity and performance metrics as determined by the healthcare facility.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of DNB in Radiology from a recognized medical college.
- DMRD qualification or equivalent in Radiology.
- State medical license to practice radiology.
- Board certification in radiology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical radiology setting.
- Proficiency in advanced imaging technologies.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety and ethical practices.
- Experience with PACS and EHR systems.
- Strong organization and time management capabilities.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and technologies.
- Ability to manage stress and maintain professionalism under pressure.
