Overview:
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in C# and Playwright Automation plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications within our organization. This hybrid role based in Chennai offers the flexibility of remote work while also fostering collaborative team dynamics. The SDET will be at the forefront of establishing test frameworks and automation practices enabling faster delivery cycles and enhanced software quality. With a focus on endtoend testing solutions the SDET will work closely with software developers QA teams and project stakeholders to identify testing needs and drive the development of robust automated tests. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills a problemsolving mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with crossfunctional teams contributing to the overall success of our software development initiatives.
- Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain automated test scripts using C# and Playwright.
- Design comprehensive test plans test cases and test scenarios.
- Implement test automation frameworks aligned with project requirements.
- Execute test suites and analyze results to ensure application quality.
- Collaborate with developers to perform root cause analysis of defects.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies providing input on testing requirements.
- Conduct API testing and validation for backend services.
- Review and enhance existing test cases for effectiveness and coverage.
- Track and report defects utilizing bug tracking tools.
- Provide proactive feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior team members in automation testing strategies.
- Perform performance testing and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Collaborate effectively with QA and development teams.
- Document testing processes and maintain testing artifacts.
- Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 58 years of experience in software testing and automation.
- Proficiency in C# and experience with Playwright.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and practices.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services testing.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins Azure DevOps etc.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications effectively.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detailoriented with a focus on quality and performance.
- Experience with performance testing tools is a plus.
- Understanding of security testing principles is advantageous.
- Willingness to stay current with industry trends and tooling.
