Job Description
Overview: The General Medicine MD DNB Consultant plays a vital role in the healthcare system providing exceptional patient care while leading a multidisciplinary team in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. This position necessitates a deep understanding of internal medicine principles and the ability to apply them effectively in a clinical setting. The consultant will assess and manage patients with complex medical issues utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques and evidencebased practices. They are integral to improving patient outcomes through collaborative care and continuous education. In addition to providing clinical services the consultant contributes to the academic and research environment of the organization promoting a culture of learning and development. This role demands a commitment to high standards in patient care ongoing medical education and quality improvement initiatives. As a leader the consultant will guide junior staff engage in community health initiatives and participate in hospital committees to enhance overall service delivery.
- Conduct thorough patient examinations and evaluate medical history.
- Diagnose a range of complex medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
- Collaborate with specialists for comprehensive patient care.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Educate patients and families on health management and prevention.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and residents.
- Engage in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient care.
- Contribute to inpatient and outpatient clinical care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement projects.
- Stay updated on advancements in internal medicine.
- Conduct clinical research and publish findings in medical journals.
- Actively participate in professional development and education.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) in General Medicine or equivalent.
- Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in General Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in internal medicine practice.
- Experience in a leadership role within a clinical environment.
- Strong knowledge of clinical guidelines and treatment protocols.
- Exceptional clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Proficient in conducting and interpreting medical research.
