Job Description
Overview: The Talend Developer plays a critical role in enhancing our data management framework enabling informed business decisions and streamlined operations. As the organization grows the demand for efficient handling of large volumes of data increases. The Talend Developer will be responsible for designing and developing integration solutions that enhance our data handling processes. This role encompasses leveraging Talend tools to ensure data quality transforming data formats and implementing ETL (Extract Transform Load) strategies. The ideal candidate will work closely with Business Analysts Data Architects and IT teams to achieve seamless data integration across various platforms. By ensuring that data flows smoothly between different systems the Talend Developer will directly contribute to our goal of harnessing the power of data to drive business success. An innovative mindset and the ability to solve complex problems will be essential in fulfilling this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain data integration workflows using Talend.
- Implement ETL processes to support data warehousing and reporting needs.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across integrated systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document data requirements.
- Optimize Talend jobs for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies and errors.
- Implement data transformation logic as per business specifications.
- Conduct unit testing and system testing to ensure successful job execution.
- Document integration processes workflows and specifications.
- Integrate with various data sources such as databases flat files and APIs.
- Provide support during data migration and system upgrades.
- Stay updated on Talend upgrades new features and best practices.
- Train team members on Talend features and data integration strategies.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices in data integration processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Talend Developer or in a similar data integration role.
- Strong knowledge of Talend Open Studio for Data Integration.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g. MySQL Oracle).
- Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
- Basic understanding of Java programming language.
- Experience with data modeling and architecture best practices.
- Familiarity with RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).
- Knowledge of cloud data integration platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies as required.
