Job Description

Overview
The Store Manager/Retail Manager is a critical role within the retail environment tasked with overseeing the daily operations of a store or retail outlet. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the store not only meets but exceeds sales targets and maintains excellent customer satisfaction. The Store Manager is responsible for managing a team of sales associates ensuring effective training motivating staff and fostering a positive working environment. In addition the Store Manager collaborates with upper management to develop sales strategies manage inventory and create promotional activities. This role requires a blend of strategic planning and handson management that aligns with the overall corporate mission. The importance of this position cannot be overstated as it directly influences both the customer experience and the financial performance of the store.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the store to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Supervise train and evaluate staff performance to ensure high productivity.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed store sales targets.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order new products as needed to prevent stockouts.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints to provide optimum customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain visual merchandising and presentation standards per company guidelines.
  • Analyze sales reports and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and financial forecast for the store.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to operational policies.
  • Organize promotional events and instore activities to drive foot traffic.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in the store environment.
  • Build a strong team culture focused on teamwork and performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to execute local advertising initiatives.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and shrinkage.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 35 years of retail management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a retail setting.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and merchandising.
  • Proficient in using pointofsale systems and retail software.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong analytical skills for sales analysis and inventory management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales plans.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with hiring and training processes.
  • Understanding of financial reports and budgeting processes.
  • Capability to adapt to changing market conditions and demands.
