Job Description
Overview:
The SAP Basis and Security Consultant plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and secure operation of SAP systems and applications within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of the SAP landscape and protecting sensitive business data from potential security threats. The consultant will be responsible for implementing and managing the technical infrastructure as well as establishing and maintaining security protocols to safeguard the organizations SAP environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure and maintain SAP systems
- Manage and troubleshoot SAP environment including SAP ERP SAP NetWeaver and SAP HANA
- Implement SAP security measures and best practices
- Perform system upgrades and patches
- Create and maintain system documentation
- Monitor system performance and capacity planning
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve technical issues
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Provide technical support and guidance to endusers
- Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery procedures
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and security trends
- Train and mentor junior team members
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of thirdparty SAPrelated tools
Required Qualifications:
Should have 46 years of experience primarily in Security and BASIS competent in the daytoday activities and the following areas.
At least one full lifecycle implementation project (from Blueprint/Explore through GoLive).
Understand SAP Activate Methodology.
Ability to use Service Marketplace to create tickets research notes and review release notes.
Should know about System upgrade activities and planning.
Wellversed with OSS activities creating OSS messages opening systems maintaining SAP system data updating new systems etc.
Wellversed with Oracle DB activities applying parameters at the database level.
Should have good knowledge of Linux & HPUX and SAP Security activities.
SAP ECC SPS EHP NetWeaver Upgrade using SUM tool.
Knowledge of SAP AD ID integration SSO Single SignOn Implementation using Kerberos authentication.
SAP Certification (Desired).
Experience in Manage Engine Ticketing Tool (Desired).
Responsibilities
System monitoring/health check activities and reporting to the management.
Complete SAP monitoring of application servers up & running user logged in.
Monitor R/3 & Javabased systems work processes and their completion status.
Monitor BG jobs periodically and log users locally & globally.
Monitor system status analyzing system logs system traces and RFC destinations.
Resolve reporting problems like startup BG jobs critical updates work processes system logs ABAP dumps Memory issues system/database tablespaces workload swaps & buffer monitoring database alerts etc.
Client Administration Client creation client copy deletion export & Import.
Transport setup and Change Request Management TR import & troubleshoot.
Schedule new background jobs and report for the issues & troubleshooting.
Installation of new R/3 and Javabased systems in Unix & Windowsbased OS.
Perform postinstallation activities on R/3 and JAVAbased systems.
Create and maintain logical systems.
Configure the logon load balancing OP modes SMLG etc.
Apply support packages & addons database patches & DB client updates.
System performance monitoring and finetuning at SAP & Database levels.
Apply SAP LICENSE NOTE Sying NOTES auto and manually.
Solution Manager 7.2 Implementation configuration and administration.
Solution Manager system configuration EWA reports generation & troubleshooting.
System Refresh/Copy activities with Oracle database
User Management User Creation deletion users lock/unlock extend the validity.
Role Design & build: Creating new roles Single role Master Composite & Derived roles.
Limit/delimitation of SAP roles to users.
Analyze missing authorizations and assign roles to users.
Role modifications adjusting derived roles adding T. Codes new fields values authorization objects copied from Master role etc.
Document SAP security policies and procedures.
Sybase 16.0 DB Upgrade configuration and administration.
SAP NetWeaver 7.5 Enterprise portal Upgrade and administration.
SAP Content Server and Max DB database Implementation and administration.
SSO Certificate Configuration.
SAP Web dispatcher Installation configuration and implementation.
SAP Router Installation and Administration.
SAP Internal / External Audit Quarterly and Yearly.
Secure protocol conversion HTTPS for SAP landscape ABAP and JAVA.
SSL Configuration for ABAP and JAVA systems.
SAP Role Cleanup and Recertification Activity for users.
SOD (Segregation Of Duties) Conflicts Cleanup and Administration for SAP users.
