Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated MRI Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in performing highquality MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety comfort and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician requests.
- Prepare and position patients ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Operate MRI equipment to capture highquality diagnostic images.
- Review images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to confirm diagnostic findings.
- Adhere to MRI safety guidelines including screening patients for contraindications to magnetic fields or contrast agents.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance checks.
- Stay informed about advancements in MRI technology and imaging techniques.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Medical Radiation Technology or equivalent.
- Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or equivalent.
- Proficiency with MRI equipment from manufacturers such as Siemens GE or Philips.
- Experience in MRI imaging is an asset with a preference for 12 years of related experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Indepth knowledge of MRI imaging techniques and protocols.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to provide patientcentered care.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities to assess image quality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
Work Environment
- Based in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center.
- May require shift work including evenings weekends and holidays.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
