This is a remote position.
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator you will play a key role in assessing project requirements calculating costs and preparing bids for electrical projects. This position requires a strong background in electrical systems excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide accurate and competitive estimates while ensuring the highest quality and safety standards are met.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Review project plans blueprints and specifications to assess project scope and requirements.
Conduct site visits and collaborate with clients project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems including labor materials equipment and overhead costs.
Analyse electrical drawings schematics and technical documents to ensure proper material selection and compliance with industry standards.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and quotes for materials and equipment.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients architects engineers and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals including cost breakdowns timelines and other relevant project details.
Provide value engineering solutions when necessary to optimiSe project costs without compromising quality.
Review and update estimates as needed during project progress and assist with change orders.
Ensure compliance with all local codes regulations and safety standards in all estimates and project planning.
At least 3 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems materials and industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications.
Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills.
Proficient in estimating software and tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
A degree or technical certification in electrical engineering construction management or a related field is a plus.
Knowledge of local electrical codes regulations and safety standards is highly desirable.
