Job Description
Responsible for procurement inputs into a bid / proposal. Identify and optimise the needs and establish the most competitive purchasing / sourcing
strategy to meet the needs includes cost lead times terms and conditions etc. Responsible for identifying risks and opportunities and related action
plans. Accountable for a smooth hand over to the project procurement team for won bids.
Support global/regional tendering teams by being the interface with suppliers for RFQs to facilitate technical alignment adherence to specifications cost and delivery targets
Negotiation of supplier offers to drive value to John Crane to ensure cost and delivery competitiveness
Maintain cost tracker at subcomponent level and communicate on potential cost and leadtime impacts to the bidding team
Partner with Category Manager to achieve best possible value available from supply base to ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials to reduce risk or impact on business operations
Monitor market trends supplier strategies and new potential suppliers
Review opportunities and negotiate to reduce costs using procurement best practice tools and methods
Ensure that a consistent approach is used for all bids activities
Identify risks and opportunities and related mitigation and improvement plans for procurement related activities
Ensure compliance to all company guidelines and purchasing policies and procedure
Provide competitive pricing and lead time information into the proposals team based on inputs from suppliers

Qualifications :
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to work with cross functional teams
Excellent communications and presentation skills
Experience of technical product purchasing of direct items
Experience in Oil & Gas or similar process industry
Knowledge of instrumentation and fluid control systems procurement is an advantage
