Job Description
The Logistics & Waste Technician performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with the pick check and ship system (PCS) and waste management. Package and ship products samples and other miscellaneous items in accordance with DOT/IATA regulations and receive and distribute all incoming goods. In performing daytoday routine tasks this worker follows established guidelines. In handling unusual nonroutine problems this worker receives specific guidance from the Logistics Manager.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily.
- Direct the Logistics department in the absence of the Logistics Manager
- Coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in the PCS system.
- Maintain organized hazardous waste documents as required by law
- Ability to coordinate and execute a waste pick up
- Assist in training of other technicians
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma required
- DOT Hazardous Materials and IATA Shipper certifications are preferred
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook Word and Excel
- 4 Years minimum experience working in a logistics setting is preferred
- 4 Years experience working in a laboratory setting is not required but is a plus
- Ability to ensure organization and prioritization to meet Shipping goals and deadlines
- RCRA Hazardous Waste Safety training preferred
- Hazwoper 24hour training preferred
- Respirator use required
