Job Description
Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician
Location: Waco Texas
Job Type: FullTime
Shift: Days 12hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
Shifts Per Week: 3 (36 hours total)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technician to join our surgical team in Waco Texas. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our surgical operations contributing directly to patient care and outcomes. As a surgical tech you will support the surgical team in a variety of procedures maintaining high standards of care and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating environments before and during surgeries.
- Assist in setting up the operating room with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Perform counts of sponges sharps instruments and other items as per policy.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist during procedures.
- Handle surgical instruments equipment and supplies during operations.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and sterilization standards.
- Assist with draping and positioning the patient for surgery.
- Manage surgical specimens according to established protocols.
- Clean and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures instruments and supplies used.
Key Success Factors:
- Comprehensive knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of surgical procedures and ability to anticipate surgeons needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adhere to safety and health regulations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited Program in Surgical Technology.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from the NBSTSA NCCT or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Experience in a surgical setting preferred but not required.
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $25 $36 depending on experience.
