Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Rapid City SD
Salary: $55000.00 to $83000.00
Job Summary:
Provide a toptier care in acute inpatient settings. This role demands proficiency in managing critical respiratory care procedures and a keen ability to assess and respond effectively to patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of respiratory distress and other emergencies providing immediate and effective interventions.
- Evaluate respiratory conditions using both clinical assessments and diagnostic tools to tailor individualized care plans.
- Administer treatments including aerosol medications pulmonary hygiene mechanical ventilation and emergency support as needed.
- Conduct therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function testing blood gas analysis and airway management.
- Ensure accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses in medical records.
- Maintain and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Engage effectively with patients families and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Mentor and educate new staff and students enhancing departmental knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- Completion of a respiratory therapy educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or equivalent.
- Active state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS certification with preference for candidates also holding ACLS certification.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in highstress situations and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
