Regional Pathology Manager

Job Summary:
The Regional Pathology Manager will lead and supervise the pathology team responsible for disease resistance screening seed health testing and disease prevention in seed production. This role includes managing pathology projects developing disease management strategies and ensuring compliance with regulations. The position will also focus on team development research initiatives and crossfunctional collaboration to improve seed health and support corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee pathology activities including disease diagnostics resistance breeding and seed disinfection methods.
- Develop and implement disease management strategies tailored to regional and climatic conditions.
- Lead and mentor a team of pathologists and technical staff providing training performance evaluations and career development.
- Manage budgets for Seed Health and Pathology cost centers and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Design and execute research projects to improve disease resistance and integrate findings into breeding efforts.
- Collaborate with breeding production and QA teams to align pathology efforts with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records and data preparing reports on research progress and disease management outcomes.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and seminars staying updated on scientific advancements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support laboratory accreditation and certification programs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in Pathology Program Management with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership strategic thinking and team management skills.
- Expertise in plant pathology disease resistance screening and pathogen detection methods.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage highpressure situations deadlines and complex projects.
- Experience in budgeting cost control and resource management.
- MS degree in plant pathology plant science or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
- Valid California State Drivers License.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work with chemicals pesticides and in varied environmental conditions (e.g. temperature extremes dusty areas).
- Occasional overtime including weekends and holidays.
- Occasional travel including international trips.
- Fulltime onsite position.
