ACCOUNTABILITIES
The SURF Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the activities below during Project SURF package from FID to completion:
- Ensure that the assigned Project tasks are well managed by SURF CONTRACTOR as per the statement of requirement specifications and contractual requirements
- Assist and support the SURF Package Manager throughout all execution phase
- Ensure that the SURF Package is executed in accordance with the organizations safety regulations with quality conformance and within schedule
- Ensure efficient communication during project with other packages with all MP entities and with stakeholders
- Provide thorough and efficient engineering documentation review comments and followup
- Followup of internal technical reviews (Project reviews etc.)
JOB DIMENSIONS
The SURF Senior Project Engineer will manage and followup SURF CTR activities from FID to transfer to Operations in relation with other Major Project entities (HSE Engineering Project control Field operation) with other packages and with all the SURF CPY team mobilized in China and in Qatar.
SURF Senior Project Engineer will be based in the Contractors premises..
The Job holder belongs to the SURF Package and reports directly to the SURF Package Manager.
ACTIVITIES
- To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other HSE procedures in all SURF Package activities
- To carry out work in compliance with values and policies relevant laws and regulations agreed priorities and objectives NOC standards and procedures and good industry practices
- To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality
- To anticipate the offshore activities and ensure Contractor starts in due time preparation of the critical offshore activities.
- In case of drift in schedule liaise with other team involved (engineering construction commissioning) to study remedial actions
- Promote a no change policy to meet budget and schedule constraint without impairing quality and safety of the SUF package activities.
- To manage assistance from shareholder specialists (remote head office) when required during all phases
- To manage Detail Engineering including followup of engineering and vendor documentation reviews to ensure compliance with design dossier SOR Company specifications Corporate standard and HSE regulation international codes and classification society rules
- To assist contract management with regards to all technical commercial and contractual issues arising during EPC Works execution and liaise with the SURF Package Manager on regular basis on that matters
- To encourage identification of any optimization / improvement in the design dossier to be implemented in the early stage of concept design
- To ensure that SURF CTR queries are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner
- To ensure implementation of the design change process affecting SUF CTR activities
- To manage potential deviations from the referential with the Engineering Manager for final decision on whether or not to implement
- To attend HAZID/ HAZOP/ Project Technical reviews sessions with SUF CTR and vendors teams
- To ensure engineering support to construction installation and precommissioning teams as required
- To promote alternatives solutions to reduce and to optimise the duration for offshore installation
- To ensure close coordination within team on all engineering constructability and operational matters
- To ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects are considered project works performance
- To participate and/or manage weekly and monthly meetings with SURF CTR and call specific ad hoc meetings as required
- To ensure Company participation in equipment FAT SAT and other inspections at site/vendor premises as required
- To participate on follow up on the Project progress and risk reporting
- The job holder shall in the performance of his duties anticipate interfacerelated problems and propose technical solutions. As such he contributes to the achievement of project objectives in terms of schedule cost and quality.
- The job holder reports hierarchically to the SUF Package Manager.
- Assist the SURF Package Manager upon request on project management matters during project execution such as:
- SURF contract management and execution
- Project Close out
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Qualification: Bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering
- Experience: At least 10 years experience in the offshore oil & gas project with minimum 5 years experience as Project Engineer
- Experience within a project team: At least 5 years experience at senior level within large multinational taskforce team environment
- Experience in offshore facilities is preferred.
- Available for technical missions worldwide
- Familiar with TotalEnergies General Specifications Prodom MOQ standards and relevant codes and standards
- Language: Fluent English
- Computer literate
- Strong leadership skills and good communication skills
- Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment
- Good analytical skills
