We are looking for an enthusiastic Java Lead who also has COBOL experience as he will be an important member of our team. The preferred candidate has a great deal of experience in architectural JAVA based enterprise applications and has worked with legacy COBOL systems. His responsibilities will include working with a team of developers to ensure smooth functioning of the transition from modern Java applications into cloud of leadingedge projects with a focus on linux environments for seamless operations and deployment.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of developers working on both Java and COBOL systems.
Oversee the design development and deployment of enterprisegrade applications.
Design and implement scalable highperformance solutions using Java (Spring Boot Microservices etc.).
Ensure seamless integration and migration between COBOL systems and modern platforms.
Develop and maintain APIs and services to interface between modern and legacy systems.
Analyze legacy COBOL code and systems for integration with new technologies.
Plan and execute migration strategies to transition from COBOL to modern Javabased systems.
Proficiency in Linux platforms for development and deployment.
Experience with Frontend technologies such as Lit Angular and TypeScript is an added advantage.
FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) experience is a plus.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Business Analysts Project Managers and QA teams to ensure project success.
Partner with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
Process Improvement:
Drive best practices in development code quality testing and deployment.
Propose and implement solutions for system optimization and performance improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring Spring Boot Hibernate).
Solid understanding of COBOL JCL and mainframe systems.
Experience with databases (PostgreSQL SQL DB2 or similar).
Familiarity with modern architectures like Microservices and cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
