About the Role
As a Vehicle Evaluation Engineer specializing in Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) you will focus on the evaluation and validation of cuttingedge electric propulsion systems and associated technologies. You will perform comprehensive assessments to ensure vehicles meet performance efficiency and safety requirements contributing to the advancement of sustainable automotive solutions.We are open to the candidates who can work onsite from BYDs Sydney or Melbourne offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- FeatureSpecific Testing and Validation:
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- Evaluate the performance and accuracy of features like adaptive cruise control lanekeeping assist automatic emergency braking and parking assistance systems.
- Conduct testing under various conditions (e.g. traffic density weather) to ensure system robustness.
- Suspension Evaluation
- Assess vehicle suspension suitability for local market work with key engineering teams to refine and improve vehicle dynamics.
- Assess vehicle towing and offroading performance work with relevant engineering teams to improve vehicle performance.
- Infotainment and Connectivity
- Evaluate and improve overall performance invehicle infotainment systems.
- Validate OvertheAir update functionality and cloud connectivity features
- Durability and Quality
- Evaluate overall vehicle durability and quality across various local conditions
- Research and Competitor Benchmarking
- Conduct research with relevant internal divisions to build understanding of local requirements and habits.
- In depth analysis of competitor vehicles from a technical perspective.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure performance across key metrics are met.
- Liaise between engineering and development teams to ensure performance and quality targets are met.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed technical reports on test findings including actionable recommendations for design and performance improvements.
- Maintain comprehensive records of evaluations for future reference.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
Bachelors degree in Automotive Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Experience:
- Proven experience in evaluating electric and hybrid vehicles or related automotive technologies.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with automotive tools diagnostic equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Strong understanding of electric powertrain systems suspension and chassis design.
- Strong understanding of invehicle software systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for crossfunctional collaboration and report writing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
