Job Description
Position: Senior Estimator Electrical
Location: Charlotte NC
Job Description
Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager or Senior Estimator the Electrical Estimator will lead all estimating activities for assigned projects. This role involves planning coordinating and executing project estimates while ensuring accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates individually or within a team.
- Understand client pricing needs and tailor estimates accordingly.
- Request and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing for completeness and scope.
- Apply value engineering principles and alternative design concepts to enhance estimates.
- Conduct thorough research to ensure precise and competitive pricing.
- Identify gaps in project scope and request clarification through RFIs.
- Review and finalize estimates with management before submission.
- Perform conceptual budgeting and NEC code compliance evaluations.
- Accurately complete bid and proposal forms.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive project files.
- Adapt to tight bid schedules and changing priorities as needed.
- Continuously learn new estimating techniques and methods.
- Ability to evaluate subcontractor/vendor bids proposals and BOMs.
- Strong understanding of construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of electrical design engineering and cost estimation for electrical systems.
- Familiarity with construction processes MS Office programs and estimating software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator with 3 years on commercial electrical projects valued at $1M.
- Bachelors degree in a technical field Business Management or equivalent experience.
