Job Description

Job Summary:
The Team Leader in a restaurant is responsible for overseeing a team of frontline staff ensuring efficient service delivery and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. The role includes leading by example training and motivating staff managing daily operations and assisting in resolving issues that may arise during service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:

    • Supervise and guide restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations and high standards of service.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths and restaurant needs.
    • Motivate support and provide feedback to staff fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Assist in managing staffing schedules and ensuring proper staffing levels during shifts.
  • Customer Service:

    • Ensure guests receive excellent service addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Monitor guest satisfaction levels and provide immediate solutions for any issues that arise during service.
    • Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all customers.
  • Training & Development:

    • Onboard and train new team members ensuring they understand restaurant policies procedures and service standards.
    • Provide ongoing training to staff on new menu items promotions and customer service best practices.
    • Encourage staff development and growth opportunities.
  • Operational Support:

    • Oversee daily restaurant operations ensuring adherence to hygiene safety and operational guidelines.
    • Monitor stock levels assist with inventory management and notify the management team when supplies need to be replenished.
    • Support kitchen and bar operations by ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages to customers.
  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure that the restaurants appearance cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained at all times.
    • Conduct quality checks on food and beverage items before they are served to customers.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution:

    • Act as a point of contact for resolving conflicts or issues between staff members or between staff and customers.
    • Handle customer complaints in a calm efficient and professional manner ensuring satisfaction.
    • Assist the restaurant manager in resolving operational or staffing issues that arise.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Assist with cash handling balancing tills and ensuring proper payment processing.
    • Maintain records of daily operations including inventory orders and staff performance.
