Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires proficiency in various estimating software including HeavyBid and Bluebeam as well as a solid understanding of contract negotiations and cost control measures. The Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by providing precise estimates that align with our strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans specifications and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Utilize HeavyBid and Bluebeam software to create detailed estimates and proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for cost analysis.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms for the company.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare detailed reports on estimates including breakdowns of labor materials equipment and overhead costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends material costs and best practices in construction management.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols is essential.
- Proficient in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for accurate calculations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for effective cost control measures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
