Job Description

As a WAS Middleware Administrator you will:

  • Install configure and manage WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments ensuring high availability scalability and optimal performance.

  • Monitor and proactively troubleshoot WAS instances and clusters to ensure minimal downtime and timely resolution of issues.

  • Perform application server tuning performance optimizations and resource management to maintain efficient operations.

  • Configure and maintain robust security settings including user management SSL and data protection protocols.

  • Manage application deployments updates and patches to ensure reliability and consistency across environments.

  • Implement and maintain effective backup disaster recovery and failover strategies for WAS environments.

  • Administer middleware environments ensuring availability performance and integration with external systems.

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve performance configuration and integration challenges related to WAS and middleware systems.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in administering WebSphere Application Server (WAS) in enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise in configuring managing and troubleshooting middleware platforms.

  • Proficiency in WAS performance tuning security configurations and failover strategies.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture middleware technologies and system integration.

  • Handson experience with clustering load balancing and highavailability setups for WAS.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell Python or PowerShell for automation.

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Tivoli Dynatrace or similar platforms.

  • Solid knowledge of network protocols databases and web services (REST SOAP).

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to address complex issues across middleware components.

You Should Possess the Ability to:

  • Effectively document configurations procedures troubleshooting guides and system designs for operational consistency and knowledge sharing.

  • Administer and optimize middleware environments alongside WAS.

  • Work collaboratively with development QA and DevOps teams to resolve middlewarerelated incidents and issues.

  • Implement best practices for middleware administration and optimization.

  • Manage rule authoring and deployment processes to ensure accurate highperforming rulebased decisions.

  • Develop and maintain automated scripts for monitoring reporting and system maintenance.

  • Adapt to evolving technologies such as containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and DevOps tools.
