partner staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and implementation for commercial industrial institutional residential building projects across Alberta. This role requires a proven track record in electrical systems design project management and client collaboration. You will mentor junior engineers ensure compliance with Alberta Building Codes and deliver sustainable energyefficient solutions for mixeduse and commercial properties.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the electrical design process for commercial building projects including lighting systems power distribution fire alarms and communication systems.
- Collaborate with architects mechanical engineers and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Review and approve single line diagrams (SDLs) panel schedules load calculations.
- Develop and manage construction documentation including detailed electrical layouts specifications and material selection.
- Ensure all designs comply with Alberta Building Code CSA standards and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage project timelines budgets and resource allocation maintaining highquality standards throughout.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress identify issues and provide solutions during construction and commissioning phases.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and EITs fostering their professional growth and technical skills.
- Promote innovation by integrating energyefficient technologies and renewable energy systems into projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation with APEGA or eligibility for registration.
- 8 years in electrical engineering with a focus on commercial building projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit and electrical modeling software.
- Indepth knowledge of BC Building Codes CSA standards and energy codes.
- Familiarity with green building certifications (LEED WELL etc.) is an asset.
- Strong project management capabilities and excellent communication and technical writing skills.
