Job Description
The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Bo research Group. The position will be funded by Ministerio de Ciencia Innovacin y Universidades through project COMPLEXSIM (ref. PIDNBI00).
ICIQ is one of the worlds internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis Renewable Energy and Health. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering highquality educational programs to master PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).
ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Prof. Carles Bo.
Responsibilities:
- The candidates will develop and apply advanced databases and computational workflows to simulate complex reactive mixtures of hybrid organic/inorganic systems and catalytic processes write scientific reports and present results at international conferences.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry with specialty in Computational or Theoretical chemistry at the time of joining the contract.
- Demonstrated experience as scientific software developer under the opensource paradigms.
- He/she should be a motivated openminded highly dynamic and a team player.
- Proven good knowledge of English (written and oral).

- Strong commitment for scientific research in a competitive environment.
- Good communication skills.
We offer:
- A temporary 3year fulltime employment contract linked to the project Computational Simulation of Complex Reactive Mixtures COMPLEXSIM (ref. PIDNBI00).
- Remuneration according to the Institute salary scales.
- Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.
- Incorporation: January/February 2025

Selection Process
ICIQs selection process usually entails the following phases:
- Preselection: The preselection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates CVs. This phase is meritbased.
- Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.
- Offer Letter:Once the successful candidate is selected the People Unit will extend a Job Offer specifying the start day salary and overall job conditions.
