ob Description: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Mining Facility

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and repair operations at our mining facility. This critical role involves managing preventative maintenance (PM) programs overseeing equipment repairs and ensuring all mechanical systems operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise leadership skills and a safetyfirst mindset to maintain equipment reliability and support production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Oversight: Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities including repairs and PM of underground mining equipment such as conveyors crushers and drills.
  • Prioritize Tasks: Establish maintenance priorities based on equipment importance production schedules and safety requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote a safetyfocused culture by ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to regulations and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and manage a team of maintenance technicians including training performance evaluations and guidance on best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components and minimize downtime.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules repairs and equipment performance to track efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance processes reduce costs and improve equipment reliability.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support operations and ensure the success of the maintenance department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor in an industrial environment ideally within mining or heavy industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems equipment repair and preventative maintenance programs. Familiarity with underground mining equipment is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead develop and manage maintenance teams effectively.
  • ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Safety Commitment: Dedication to maintaining a safe work environment and fostering a culture of safety.

Work Environment:

  • Must wear required PPE including steeltoed boots safety glasses hard hats and electrical safety equipment.
  • Work in varying temperatures within production areas and outdoors yearround.
  • Perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs. climbing crawling bending squatting and reaching to access and repair equipment.
