Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs): Collect data through interviews observations and review of student records. Analyze data to determine the function of challenging behaviors.
  • Develop and Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Create individualized BIPs based on FBA results incorporating positive behavior supports (PBS) and evidencebased practices.
  • Train school staff (teachers paraprofessionals etc.) on BIP implementation.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to staff on BIP implementation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of BIPs through ongoing data collection and analysis.
  • Make databased decisions to adjust BIPs as needed.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers paraprofessionals and other school staff regarding classroom management behavior management strategies and deescalation techniques.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to discuss student behavior develop behavioral goals and ensure appropriate services are provided.
  • Conduct parent training sessions on behavior management strategies and provide support to families in implementing homebased interventions.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) through professional development activities.
  • Supervise and mentor BCaBAs and other related service providers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification in Special Education (preferred).
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in data collection analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students parents and school staff.
