We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in various financial tasks ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This role requires strong organizational skills proficiency in financial software and an understanding of accounting principles. The Finance Assistant will contribute to daytoday financial processes such as managing invoices processing payments reconciling accounts and supporting monthend closing activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the processing and management of invoices.
Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.
Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with clients to ensure payments are received.
Maintain accurate financial records in the accounting system.
Record financial transactions ensuring compliance with company policies.
Assist with bank reconciliations and other financial reporting tasks.
Support in preparing financial statements and reports for management.
Assist with monthend and yearend closing processes.
Prepare adhoc reports as required by management or senior finance team members.
Help monitor budget performance and assist in financial forecasting.
Track and report variances in actual spending versus budgeted amounts.
Ensure financial processes comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Assist in organizing meetings and managing financial documentation.
Requirements
- A degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Reliable proactive and adaptable to change.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
