Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with Python programming skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of handson experience in SAP ABAP development along with proficiency in Python for process automation data manipulation and integration tasks. You will work on enhancing SAP modules writing custom programs and developing scripts for automation reporting and data exchange across SAP and external systems.
This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills in both SAP ABAP and Python to develop innovative solutions enhance SAP applications and optimize business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP ABAP Development: Design develop and maintain custom SAP applications using ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming). This includes user exits BAdIs (Business AddIns) ALV reports forms (SAPscript Smartforms) enhancements and RFCs.
Integration with External Systems: Use Python to integrate SAP with external systems automate data transfers and handle API integrations (e.g. REST SOAP).
Process Automation: Leverage Python scripting for automating repetitive tasks such as batch jobs data processing and report generation.
Custom Reports & Forms: Develop custom reports Smartforms and interfaces based on user requirements improving the SAP reporting landscape.
Data Migration: Work on data migration tasks including data extraction transformation and loading (ETL) leveraging both SAP ABAP and Python for data preparation and manipulation.
Performance Tuning: Optimize existing ABAP programs for performance ensuring scalability and minimal resource consumption especially for highvolume operations.
Troubleshooting & Support: Provide troubleshooting and support for existing SAP ABAP applications handling issue resolution performance issues and debugging.
Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants business users and other technical teams to understand business requirements and design solutions that integrate SAP with other technologies.
Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation of all custom development work ensuring clear guidelines for future enhancements or support.
Python for Data Processing: Apply Python for data analysis and reporting including using libraries such as Pandas NumPy or Matplotlib to handle large datasets and provide actionable insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
SAP ABAP: 4 years of experience in SAP ABAP development including strong knowledge of ABAP Objects ALV reporting SAPscript Smartforms BAPI BADI and IDOCs.
Python Programming: Proficiency in Python for automation integration and data manipulation tasks. Knowledge of key Python libraries such as Pandas NumPy requests and JSON.
SAP Integration: Experience with SAP integration techniques such as RFCs IDocs BAPIs and working with SAP PI/PO or thirdparty tools for data transfer and system communication.
Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of SAP database structures (tables views) and ability to work with SQL to query SAP HANA or other databases for data processing.
Performance Tuning: Ability to optimize ABAP programs for performance and ensure best practices for efficient coding especially for large datasets and frequent processes.
Automation: Experience in automating business processes and tasks using both ABAP and Python reducing manual intervention and improving operational efficiency.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with business users gather requirements and explain technical solutions to nontechnical stakeholders.
ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues in SAP and Python environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP S/4HANA: Experience working in an S/4HANA environment and understanding of S/4HANAspecific ABAP concepts (e.g. CDS views AMDP).
API Integration: Familiarity with REST/SOAP API integration methods in both SAP and Python.
Cloud Integration: Experience in integrating SAP with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure) using Python and SAP Cloud SDK.
Data Science & Analytics: Familiarity with data science or machine learning concepts and Python libraries for predictive analytics which can be applied to SAP data for reporting and decisionmaking.
Version Control: Experience with version control tools like Git for managing ABAP and Python codebase.
Certifications: SAP ABAP certification or Pythonrelated certifications are a plus.
