About the Role
Wirral Council is looking for a Finance lead for the design and implementation of budget transformation programmes across all service areas. Working with senior stakeholders to identify and deliver efficiency savings. Creating robust business cases and financial models to support transformation initiatives. Urgently required to support the achievement of a balanced budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the transformation of clients budgeting processes by identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to optimize them
Work closely with clients to understand their budgeting needs and goals
Analyze current budgeting processes and identify opportunities for automation and streamlining
Develop and implement budgeting policies procedures and best practices
Train and support clients in using new budgeting tools and processes
Monitor and track budgeting performance and provide regular updates to clients
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure a cohesive and effective budgeting process
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in budgeting and financial management
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in budgeting and financial management
Strong understanding of budgeting processes and best practices
Experience in leading budget transformation projects
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Proficient in budgeting software and tools
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
