Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Solicitor on a 3month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 14.86 18.45 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- To specialise in Criminal and Civil Litigation Law
- To participate in the provision of a comprehensive legal service to the Council and other client departments as may be required.
- To deal with all work efficiently and cost effectively; achieving the purposes of the customer in each case.
- To provide expert advice and make decisions on litigation legal matters and on the management of risk on contentious legal issues.
- To undertake advocacy in all relevant court and tribunal cases including contested hearings on behalf of the Council.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Local Government law in addition to specialist knowledge in Litigation
- Specialist knowledge in Civil and Criminal Litigation Law
- Post qualification legal experience in Local Government Law and in all areas of Litigation with significant experience in case management.
Please note:
- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a basic DBS
