Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Westminster to assist with the appointment of a Environmental Health Officer on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 33.38 43.50 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- To harness your environmental health knowledge to make Westminster a healthier and more equitable place to live work and visit.
- To develop implement and enforce environmental health policies and legislation using specialist technical skills and knowledge to maintain and safeguard standards relating to peoples health and wellbeing.
- To carry out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and taking action to improve conditions through engagement education and enforcement.
- To deliver a responsive fair and informed response to complaints and concerns from our communities resolving issues and risks highlighted to us in a timely and efficient way.
- Taking enforcement action where necessary initiating legal proceedings preparing and giving evidence in court.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or relevant other qualifications or experience that would allow the post holder to undertake the role.
- Experience of working in a relevant environmental health discipline would be desirable.
- Experience of responding to complaints from the public stakeholders and public elected members both in writing and in person with respect to environmental health disciplines.
