Customer Service
Engage with Guests: Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor throughout the meal, checking in with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their food and service.
Handle Complaints: Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring any issues are resolved to the guest’s satisfaction. In some cases, escalate the issue to a supervisor or manager if needed.
Special Requests: Accommodate special requests (e.g., dietary restrictions, food allergies, seating preferences) to ensure guests’ needs are met.
Coordinating with Kitchen and Bar Staff
Communicate Orders: Relay orders accurately and promptly to the kitchen and bar staff, ensuring that all items are prepared correctly and delivered on time.
Ensure Timely Delivery: Work with the kitchen and bar teams to coordinate the timing of food and beverage orders, ensuring everything is served at the appropriate temperature and consistency.
Monitor Special Requests: Communicate any special requests or changes in the order (e.g., modifications for dietary restrictions) to the kitchen staff.
Maintaining Cleanliness and Order
Table Maintenance: Clear empty dishes, glasses, and utensils promptly from the table, ensuring the space remains clean and tidy throughout the meal.
Set and Reset Tables: Prepare tables for new guests by setting them with clean tableware, utensils, and condiments. Reset tables in between guests to maintain cleanliness.
Clean Work Area: Keep workstations, serving stations, and the dining area clean and organized.
Ideally with a relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management
Minimum 2 years work experience in hotel operations
Good customer service, communications and interpersonal skills are a must
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication to interact with guests, relay orders to the kitchen, and provide clear explanations of menu items or specials.
Multitasking Ability: Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently, such as taking orders, serving food, and managing different tables simultaneously.
Customer-Focused: Ability to understand and anticipate guest needs, ensuring a positive dining experience from start to finish.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team, coordinating with other waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Attention to Detail: Being detail-oriented to ensure orders are taken and delivered accurately, and that guests receive what they ordered.
Time Management: Effectively managing time to ensure guests are served in a timely manner, especially during busy periods.
