Job Description

Our client is a boutique law firm specializing in property law and conveyancing services. With a commitment to excellence and client satisfaction they provide comprehensive legal support for property transactions across South Africa.

They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Conveyancing Secretary/ Paralegal with expertise in property transfers to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating smooth and efficient property transactions ensuring compliance with legal requirements and delivering exceptional service to their clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and draft legal documents contracts and correspondence related to property transfers.
  • Manage and coordinate the conveyancing process from initiation to completion including liaising with clients attorneys and relevant authorities.
  • Conduct title searches property searches and due diligence to verify property ownership and assess any encumbrances or restrictions.
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation of transfer documents including deeds of sale transfer duty declarations and transfer forms.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between various parties involved in property transactions including sellers buyers banks and municipalities.
  • Maintain accurate records files and databases related to property transactions and client information.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and other team members as needed.

Experience and Qualification:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience as a Conveyancing Secretary/ Paralegal with a focus on property transfers.
  • Diploma or certification in Legal Secretary Studies or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with ABSA and Investec bonds.
  • Proficient with Ghost Practice Lexis Convey e4.
  • Proficiency in conveyancing processes property law and relevant regulations in South Africa.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in conveyancing software Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others.

Salary: Market Related
