Talent Source is hiring an Environmental Safety & Health Technician in San Diego California working as both a prime contractor and subcontractor for government ship repair.
This is a temp to direct hire position.
Job Summary:
Serves as an environmental and safety resource for facility and subcontractor personnel working in a variety of industrial fields associated with ship repair. The areas include: on board sea going vessels and ships; industrial shops; dry docks; etc. ensuring compliance with established Federal OSHA State OSHA NAVSEA Standard Items and Maritime regulations and/or requirements
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must possess knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFRand NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Maritime Knowledge (preferred)
- Knowledge of proper investigating and reporting of incidents.
- Strong communicator
- Ability to resolve complaints and negotiate with others.
