Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Azure Data Reliability Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability scalability and performance of our cloudbased data platforms and pipelines. Key Responsibilities
Cloud Computing
- Build and manage data infrastructure using Microsoft Azure services like Azure Data Lake Azure Synapse and Azure SQL.
- Apply a strong foundation in Azure Fundamentals to optimize cloudbased solutions.
Data Engineering and Analytics
- Develop and manage largescale data pipelines using Databricks for data processing transformation and analytics.
- Leverage knowledge of big data frameworks like Spark or PySpark to support analytics initiatives.
Workflow Orchestration
- Design schedule and monitor workflows with Apache Airflow ensuring seamless data operations.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Implement and maintain reliability engineering best practices including:
- Monitoring and alerting for critical systems.
- Managing incidents and ensuring timely resolution.
- Defining and maintaining SLOs and SLIs.
- Automating repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency.
Agile Practices
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Adapt to a fastpaced iterative development environment.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
- Handson experience with Azure services like Azure Data Lake Azure Synapse or Azure SQL.
- Expertise in Databricks for data processing and analytics.
- Proficiency in Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Solid understanding of SRE principles including monitoring incident management and automation.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Preferred Skills (NicetoHave)
- Programming knowledge in Python SQL or other scripting languages.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus Grafana or ELK Stack.
