Job Description
RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.
We are hiring Senior Medical Scientist (Blood Transfusion) for a private hospital in Cork
Key Responsibilities
- The post holder will be expected to live CHI values and be childcentered compassionate progressive and will act with respect excellence and integrity
- Be professionally responsible for all aspects of the post holder s own work.
- Contribute to the management function of the laboratory in the delivery of a high quality blood transfusion service in an efficient and costeffective manner
- Be responsible for specific areas of the blood transfusion laboratory activity as may be delegated from time to time.
- Participate in the timely and proper processing of all specimens received in the laboratory in accordance with procedures. To prioritise urgent work.
- Participate in preparation maintenance and practice of standard operating procedures.
- Participate in management and delivery of proper quality control procedures
Requirements
- CORUregistered (or evidence of application in progress) Medical Scientist and eligible for Fellowship of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
- At least four years experience in blood transfusion since qualification
- At least two years experience as a Senior MS in blood transfusion (desirable)
- Advanced technical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory blood transfusion
- Experience of service development and ISO15189 accreditation
- Demonstrable effective interaction with colleagues
- Flexible collaborative and committed to achievement of team and organisational objectives
- Patientfocussed and influential with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of risk management
- Experience of JCI hospital accreditation (desirable)
