Our clinet has multiple offices located throughout the Southeast. They specialize in commercial construction healthcare highered multifamily and large scale retail projects.
Summary:
Our growing construction company is looking for a Construction Controller to oversee the overall management of the Finance Department. The Controller should have construction accounting experience and will be responsible for the monthly close job cost management and establishing and monitoring internal controls. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and multitasking skills a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurate monthly close in accordance with accounting standards
Full responsibility for review/completion of monthly reconciliations
Review and update Work in Process schedule quarterly.
Oversee the monthly/weekly job cost report process with the President and Project Managers to ensure proper job costing estimates to complete billing and timely change orders.
Process accurate weekly payroll and review related tax filings by third party.
File monthly sales and use tax returns.
Assist in developing an annual budget with the owner and manage budgets to ensure fiscal health and responsibility.
Provide monthly internal statements and analysis to the President.
Direct and coordinate any debt financing and bonding company.
Oversee daily operations of the finance department.
Ensure compliance with local state and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
Design establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives.
Supervision of 2 to 3 direct reports (accounts payable accounts receivable project accountant)
Calculate Labor rates
Insurance Buyout and Management
Workers Benefits management
Work with the outside CPA firm on the annual and interim reviews and tax returns.
Participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
BA degree in accounting with 5 to 10 years experience in a Construction Controller or senior level accounting position.
Construction experience is a must.
Proficient in Microsoft office applications including excel and word.
Sage 100 experience
Ability to selfmanage with strong motivation and willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of management and associates.
Full Time
