About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Superintendent to manage and oversee the mechanical electrical plumbing and fire protection (MEP) aspects of our construction projects. This role requires close collaboration with subcontractors field personnel architects and governing officials to ensure quality compliance and timely completion. The ideal candidate will have a handson approach excellent communication skills and a strong technical background in MEP systems within fastpaced residential construction environments.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the quality control of MEP trades from excavation through completion and equipment commissioning.
- Develop and execute punch lists to ensure all work meets project specifications and schedules.
- Review MEP shop drawings and identify potential conflicts to mitigate risks.
- Attend and cochair weekly coordination meetings with all trades to align project goals and timelines.
- Enforce onsite safety programs and maintain compliance with building codes and standards.
- Collaborate with architects subcontractors and governing officials to process RFIs and secure necessary inspections and approvals.
- Maintain comprehensive daily logs and monitor progress of equipment startups commissioning and asbuilt documentation.
- Ensure seamless communication and teamwork among the onsite superintendent team and tradespeople.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management engineering or a related field (preferred).
- 35 years of experience in MEP and structural trades with at least one $25M project completed from start to finish.
- Proven track record in mid to highrise fasttrack residential construction projects.
- Proficient in Procore Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
- Comprehensive understanding of structural mechanical electrical plumbing and lowvoltage systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with LEAN construction techniques and processes.
- General knowledge of building codes and mechanical standards.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and innovative design solutions.
- Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
