Job Description

Join an awardwinning Library! The Schaumburg Township District Library is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team.

The Marketing Manager is pivotal in promoting Schaumburg Township District Library through innovative marketing strategies and engaging content. This position focuses on managing social media channels email marketing designing marketing materials and developing compelling content to enhance the Librarys visibility and broadcast the Librarys brand. The Marketing Manager supports the Marketing and Communications Director with various projects and initiatives and provides oversight of the department in the absence of the director.

This exciting opportunity is for 37.5 hours per week to be scheduled during library hours that will be required to work some nights and weekends as needed. The schedule is based on the needs of the library and could change if and when needed. The salary range for this position is $47600.00$59495.00; based on skills and qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES:

  • Ability to be a teamplayer and work pleasantly and effectively with all patrons staff supervisors and others.
  • Ability to learn various job functions perform them correctly and understand the necessity in overall library operations.
  • Ability to independently function efficiently in a changing and varied environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on details.
  • Ability to follow all library policies and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to incorporating principles of Diversity Equity and Inclusion into everyday work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Content Creation:
    • Provide original graphic design and produce marketing materials including flyers brochures newsletters and content.
    • Write and edit articles and promotional materials highlighting Library programs services and events.
    • Provide expertise for digital channels including the Librarys website digital display monitors and email newsletter to support Library events and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Library staff to gather information and insights for content development.
    • Provide photography and videography services production and guidance for marketing videos highlighting events services and physical spaces.
  • Social Media Management:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase Library engagement and awareness.
    • Monitor social media channels report statistics respond to inquiries and engage with the community.
  • Email Marketing:
    • Develop and create comprehensive email marketing content and implement email communication campaigns to engage patrons.
    • Assist with gathering statistics analyzing results reporting and recommendations for improvements.
  • Marketing Campaigns:
    • Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns to align with strategic plan initiatives.
    • Analyze project performance and recommend adjustments based on datadriven insights.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Director on strategic initiatives and projects.
    • Assist in organizing events workshops and community outreach efforts.
    • Stay informed about Library trends community interests and effective marketing practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing Communications Public Relations Graphic Design or a related field from a fouryear college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in marketing preferably in a nonprofit or public sector environment required.
  • Experience in graphic design software using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficient in social media management tools and analytics.
