Job Description
Main job responsibilities:
- Compliance Initiatives:
- Monitors assesses and ensures compliance with compliance and reportorial requirements from the lending industry’s regulators including but not limited to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) the National Privacy Commission (NPC) the Credit Information Corporation (CIC) and other relevant and auxiliary government partners.
- Assists in the development implementation and maintenance of compliance policies procedures and internal controls for the company.
- Conducts periodic compliance audits to identify potential gaps risks and noncompliance issues and recommends corrective actions.
- Partners with relevant internal departments in reviewing and assessing new products that will be deployed in the Market.
- Provides support in the preparation and filing of regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to deadlines and accuracy.
- Stays updated on relevant regulatory developments and industry best practices ensuring the company remains compliant with all applicable laws policies and regulations. This includes drafting of technical interpretation of the said laws policies and regulations.
- Government Relations:
- Together with the Head of External Affairs establishes and nurtures relationships with government agencies regulatory bodies and industry associations.
- Monitors and analyzes proposed legislation regulatory changes and government initiatives affecting the fintech lending industry.
- Advocates for the company’s position in discussions with government agencies helping shape policies and regulations that align with business objectives.
- Acts as the deputy point of contact between the company and government regulators for licensing reporting and other compliancerelated matters.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders including regulators industry associations consumer advocacy groups and other auxiliary partners.
- Monitors industry trends and best practices related to compliance government relations corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental social and governance (ESG).
- Supports the company's reputation management efforts particularly in relation to government relations and regulatory matters.
