A healthcare/nonprofit organization is seeking to hire an Accounting Associate. In this seat you will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for heavy AP and Payroll tasks. The ideal candidate has 24 years of blended AP/Payroll experience has used MS Dynamics and/or ADP WFN (highly preferred but not required) and has earned their associates degree.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time using payroll software.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll including deductions benefits and hours worked.
- Perform journal entries and reconcile accounts payable related to payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of reports related to payroll metrics and trends.
- Collaborate with human resources to manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes as they relate to payroll.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Utilize QuickBooks or Workday for efficient payroll processing and record keeping.
- Handle inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or issues from employees.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll management or a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or Workday is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits doubleentry bookkeeping and journal entries.
- Excellent 10key typing skills for accurate data entry.
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of human resources practices as they pertain to payroll functions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience required Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using formulas/pivot tables, etc. Experience with NetSuite is a plus, requires experience with accounting software Strong ability in managing priorities Strong customer service skills Knowledge of three way matching of purchase orders, packing slips and invoices Ability to perform in a high-growth, fast-paced, collaborative work environment Ideal candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment and keen attention to details
