Job Description
Job Title: Production Operator Assembly
Department: Manufacturing Assembly
Reports To: Process Optimizer Assembly
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To Run Production Equipment in the most efficient effective and safest manner to meet/Surpass the target throughput as well as perform daily equipment autonomous/preventive maintenance (Daily cleaning checking lubricating & tightening to prevent deterioration).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
1. Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipments
2. Identify damages and reports shortages or quality deficiencies
3. Inspect machinery to determine the need for repair and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
4. Keep updated check list for the machine inspection
5. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
6. Transport raw material to production workstation
7. Competently perform machine operation functions
8. Test the machine before main work begins to be sure that it s in good condition for production
9. Competently Perform daily equipment autonomous maintenance activities: Daily cleaning checking lubricating and tightening to prevent deterioration
10. Record the results of daily inspections and the details of all breakdowns
11. Periodic inspections or equipment diagnosis to measure deterioration
12. Monitor machines during production to ensure optimum running
13. Load Components into the Machine Hoppers as required
14. Promptly report to the process optimizer/technician in case of any Machine malfunction
15. Strictly adhere to the laid down safe working procedures while carrying out your ResponsibilitiesRemember Safety First in whatever you do
16. Account for your Shift production by ensuring that all components are weighed and properly recorded
17. Assist in performing color changeovers
18. Ensure that allocated machine is producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
19. No mixup of Components during production runsUse the right components without fail
20. Promptly liaise with the Process Optimizer/Q.C Inspector in case of any offspec component
21. Avoid generation of waste by doing right things first time
22. Any unavoidable waste generated should be segregated and put in the respective waste bin
23. Use all the safety gears/PPEs as required.
24. Comply with all OHS/EHS stipulated rules/Regulations
25. Attend and participate in daily safety briefings
26. Adhere to Good Housekeeping practices always
27. Follow stipulated work procedures
28. Promptly report any hazard to the shift process optimizer.
29. Conduct smooth hand over to the incoming machine operator to be done at the workstation
30. Update all the relevant documents e.g. M/c downtime sheets Change over sheets etc
31. Promptly report any issues to the Process Optimizer
Requirements
Academic and Professional qualifications
1. Minimum KCSE D and a certificate in Engineering or a production related field
2. Diploma in any production related filed is an added advantage
Professional work experience
3. 3 years experience as an operator
Essential Skills & Competencies
4. Strong knowledge of local state and federal health and safety regulations
5. Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures
6. A depth understanding of business process and principles
7. Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
8. Excellent physical condition and coordination
